I recently sold my Eagle shell to someone with a 2nd generation Tacoma with wider and deeper truck bed than my 03 Tacoma. I bought the camper used and it was made for 2nd gen. Tacomas so depth of the truck bed was not an issue just the the width. Here is how we loaded the camper without extension brackets:
1. Jack up the camper and backup the truck as far as you can. In this case, it was just about when the rear fenders would hit the corner jacks. At this point, most of the front half of the camper over the truck bed counting the tail gate.
2. Now evenly, lower the camper onto the truck bed the remove the front jacks. With two people on the rear, lift up the camper slide it all the way
3.If desired, remove rear corner jacks.
It helped that My Eagle shell was only about 530 lbs. and the Tacoma had composite truck bed which made sliding pretty easy. I was surprised at how light the camper was.
Note: - this was only meant to get the buyer home.
