From OR, it was down to Chico to My sister in laws house and a visit with the crazy cousins.

While in Chico, I snuck down to Woodland to the FWC factory to meet Mr. Stan Kennedy. He took time out to give me a thorough tour of the opperation there..WOW!!
They are pumpin them out! THank You Stan for the time you gave up for me, I appreciate it!

While in Chico, My brother in Law fell in love with my rig.

That was on a friday. We left Sat. morning for Home.
By the time I got home My Bro in law had been on the phone with Stan twice, and driven the new Tundra..

I hope He pulls the trigger!

The only two bummers we had on the trip were;
#1 the price of fuel, between $3.80 and$4.05.
#2 not Staying and getting to know The Fisherman better.
Even though it was my first creepy internet meeting, I felt like I made a new friend..

That's it!

Thanks for Riding along with us!

Now get out there and go somewhere, so I can ride along!

TT

Hi Tomas,

Great trip and Report (and of course pictures:thumb:)

It is great that you took the time with your family to take pictures and share a report that takes time on your part for us to enjoy.

You inspire me to go on a trip and make it a point to capture the mood and sense of the trip, weather it be short or long.

Report very well done! Fantastic scenery! A trip worth doing.

I don’t think I would have gone down that muddy road with my truck either and I have a winch. Red mud white truck…..yuck! (I still have Utah mud under mine). Price of fuel is more but look at the memories your kids have now.

Empty coastline? Check.
Empty river camps? Check.
Family? Check.
Fish? Check.
Waves? Check.

Nice work Tomas.

What a trip!

Best trip report i have read in a long time made me feel like i was with you,But i would not of helped you out if you got stuck in that muddy road!
Was that a sunrise or sunset? What ever great Pictures!
I agree gas is a bummer!
So drive slow and enjoy "its the journey"

Great write up and photo's. You have to admit that the Lost Coast is one awesome area. Heck, I'd still be living up there if it wasn't for the job market. Glad you and the family had a great time.:)

What A Beautiful Trip!

Anytime

What a great trip report, you and your family are welcome in Whitethorn anytime you feel like mak'in the trip. When I look at your pics. I realize what a beautiful place this is. I guess we will be getting ready for a trip also, we'll be starting about 600 mi. west of Vancouver Island, it will probably end about 9 weeks later somewhere in your neighborhood depending on water temps. It's called Albacore fishing, no 4 Wheel Camper, but it's the ultamate camping trip none the less. I'm fairly sure I can come up with a pretty interesting report out of one of these fiascos. Your Friend The Fisherman

Thanks for the kind words all.My wife read the report and reminded me of all kinds of other notables I left out. It was a well rounded trip.

M.E. Welcome aboard!More Oxnard crew! We have more FWC's per capita than anywhere..

Les, Sunset on both photos..

Fisherman, I hope it happens in my neck of the woods! Were due for some Albies in our range.
Thanks for the welcome. Check in while your gone. And for gosh sakes take some cow with you, DON"T GET SICK OF FISH!!

THis guy looked like he needed a ride:

Does She Have A Name

I'm tak'in my little brother with me this year, and after a week or so he starts to get lonley. Just to set the record straight, not all those boats are mine. I just live the closest to the cove so my yard is the parking lot, two are mine however a guy needs a boat of two, don't you think. The big boat is internet capable, if I can i'll try to post some reports. It will be sort of like a junior Deadlist Catch, it's sort of off the subject, but I think some people might find it interesting. If there's any interest let me know.

Fishing Dude

I thought you would know, The Ali-J is a jig boat, a set of four spool lyons pullers, and two rail mounted pullers for the short lines. We have shot some good video, if you had stayed around for a while we would of had them out. One in particular, an south pacific trip, our biggest day ever 751 fish, two guys on the stern going wide open for hours with crash helmets on to protect from big time jig fly backs, some of this stuff is pretty crazy. When you got a spare 8 weeks let me know, we'll go have some real fun. I don't know how I lived this long, but I'm sure glad I did, live every day like it's your last, because..........................

TT,
Spectacular pix and terrific report amigo!!! I wouldnt expect anything less from you. I must admit I expected to see Windy in a tutu. Thats a fine looking FWC y'got there.

Dear Thomas--

I loved reading your report; not just to look at the pictures, but to soak in your inimitable life|writing style. Your point of view truly is fresh air for my soul.

Thanks so much for your generosity of spirit.

TT,
Absolutely fantastic pics and report, can't wait to show it to my wife, she'll love it and want to go there as I do. Many Thanks.

Excellent report. Thanks. I don't think I'd have taken my truck down that muddy section either. Jeep sure, but I always think about whether I'll make the road worse. Just because I can make it doesn't always mean I should. Lots of pics. Thats the way to do a report.

No mas, Tomas.... Enough, enough, enough.

I can't take another photo of a perfect sunset, a prime beachside campsite, a fat 'n tasty fish, the charming & beautiful children, the ideal Tundra & Hawk combo, the blue water, the Usal trail.... you're killing me. Absolutely killing me.

I ran the PCH 101 from Cambria to Crescent City last Fall and I didn't find that many remote campsite or see that many rich sunsets. I saw the 420 cow and some stiff winds, but man, you did it right. I am cursing myself now for not getting more insider info before I left. Clearly I missed some good stuff.

Thanks so much for sharing the good stuff - :thumb:

Thanx KC,

The insider info is all right here on this site, that's where i nabbed it!

Funny, my Mexican buddies that gave me my nick name,TT,used to call me Tomas "no mas" Tierra. After the long dirt road to visit them, i would say "por favor, no mas tierra" ( please, no more dust!) then we would drink much beer...I need a Baja Trip!!!!!!!

Craig, DLN, Mark, Jay, Sunman, thank you, and, My pleasure Amigos! Meet us up there next year, this is officially going to be an annual trip for us. Next year I WILL have my FnG liscence, my card, and my iron. and will plan my visit to Usal beach around a minus tide period:rolleyes:.
