Lucky on the smoke so far

I'll bet Ski isn't so lucky. Just heard Leek Springs L.O. is down today due to 0 visibiltiy. Not great here but I can't smell any smoke so I'm not complaining.

Has anyone heard anything of Milt and some of the other members in the Napa.Sonoma area ?
I keep thinking about them and all the fires up there.
Craig aren't you getting some smoke?

I bet it's been very hot for you though.

It is getting thick here. We smelled smoke as we woke this morning. Julie is up country, hiking at Shealor Lake. I'll get a high country report this afternoon.

Yes, Sonoma and Napa are getting hit again. Tragic. Thus far our niece and family are not in any evacuation zones but they are ready.

Visibility isn't great but as long if I can't smell smoke its good. I expected we'd get hit worse than we have so far. It has been hot. It very well may fill in later given the location of the fires. The only good thing is some of the fires are going to burn into old burn scars. Hopefuly slow it down.

The views of the fire cams were something last night.

I was tossing around the idea of doing Leek Springs Hill for a SOTA activation. Not now!

The fire closest to us, the SQF Complex (also known as the Sequoia Fire or the Castle Fire) started on August 19th and is currently 61% contained. Smoke has been a constant for most of the past month and a half with only a few days where any blue sky was present. Last week our cat was coughing and convulsing (as if he were going to cough up a hair ball, but that didn't happen) so we took him to the vet. The Dr. said that it was smoke related and that their office has been inundated with animals in recent weeks suffering from a variety of problems associated with the chronic smoke.
