I found this photo on Wikipedia that describes these benches placed by the "Mano Seca Group". I couldn't find any info on the group. Anyone know anything?

I googled them and got nothing. They could be a guerrilla landscape group that works under the radar. I know the Park Service takes a dim veiw of unauthorized structures being installed in natioal parks. And this looks like just such a structure. Nice bench though, think it would fit in the door of a Granby?

Cheers,

Mike

Some more info here but no real answers: My link Sounds like they are dedicated to this guy for work he did saving a schoolhouse and are placed in some of his favorite places.

There is also one in Julia Pfeiffer park, one in Carrizo Plain National Monument, and one in the Marin Headlands. The wikipedia description makes it sound like there is some contest to find them all?

if you type "Mano Seca Group" in Google you'll find more of their benches. I've been to three. They are really nice.
I'm perplexed also as to who or really why, but they're cool.
I wonder if there's a way to contact the Mano Seca Group.
Nice view though.
