MGM lions, giraffe, emus near Vegas

Stopped in Vegas to see wife's nephew. Went to the Lion Habitat. Found out male lions can spray 15 feet. If they turned their back to you, you better keep your distance. One keeper said watch it to a group and I saw a male in action. The lions are retired from the MGM casino. The giraffe was one that needed a home. Modern artist as well.

Huge park and well kept and secure. Not like Samstown and Circus Circus. Lot of theft going on at the others. Even had a singer event in their showroom. Slightly more money than the other RV places but felt much better there. Though my little camper looked tiny compared to the large RV set. Across from the Silverton.https://silvertoncasino.com/

I'm always sad about these places, sort of where we dump used up/abused wild animals to die. That said, I appreciate that these people take these animals and try to give them a chance to live out and enjoy a "normal" life! There is a place in Reno that while I give them a donation each year, I will not stop by. I remember they had a place like this in Folsom that took the real sad cases like a wolf or bear that spent their lives walking back and forth in a 12" cage, or chained to a post. Even after they gave them space to wander around in they were lost and over stressed and ended up backin their cage again. What can you do?

I remember watching a program on TV years ago about an elephant named Gladis that spent something like 20 years in a zoo (no other elephants) down south somewhere-she was never abused and had the same keeper all of the time. Well, it turned out that there was a elephant sanctuary that agreed to take her and it turned out there was an elephant there that was caught with her in Africa 20 years before. What a happy ending that was-they remembered each other and the last act showed them wandering over the hills! A sad part was the keeper who watched his friend for 20 years go on to a new life. Wish all stories would end like that! Must be time to donate again!
