Just wanted to say hello. We recently purchased an Eagle for our S-10 from Tom and Sean after visiting the Ogallala truck camper show. This is our 5th truck camper and the smallest. We are fulltime rv'ers and tow this eagle behind our motorhome so we can venture out into the woods after parking the mothership.

So far the only mods I have done are the installation of a group 31 agm battery and install a cat door below the rollover sofa for our cats litter box. I am going to have an awning and possibly a roof rack installed. I want to add some solar also. The only thing I have done to the truck was to add helwig helper springs.

We recently took it on its maiden voyage on a 4 nite trip into Routt National Forest in NW Colorado. Here on some pictures.

Now that, is living the dream! Congratulations on acquiring your new dinghy!

Beautiful photos and nice personal touches to your FWC. It's almost hard to take a "bad" scenic photo in Colorado, isn't it?

I first heard about the slide-in show in Ogallala the week before it happened, too late to make arraingements to attend. Wish I could have but maybe next year.

Welcome to the forum Jim and welcome to the FWC club. You're gonna love it!

Thanks kcowyo, what do I have to do to get the image to show in the post?

Jim,
When you "post reply" go down the page and click the "manage attachments" button. Then find your photos to upload. They can't be too large though.

Jim,

Welcome to the board. We also have a 2006 Eagle and love it. Now, we'd love to have the time to enjoy it while having a mobile home base. Great way to go.

Here is how we carry our mountain bikes. There is about an inch of clearance between the roof and handle bars.

Jim,

We also carry our bikes inside strapped to some heavy eyelets with fastex and webbing, but getting in and out is a bit of pain. I had a setup similar to yours for my camper shell before the FWC and just may see if ours will fit in a similar way. Thanks for the post.

We are using a fork holder from Renniks Bike Tote, very good quality stuff and priced accordingly. https://host195.ipowerweb.com/~biketote/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=29&osCsid=beb3cfa98fa5f11415bdee42dce3ee07

Jim,

Thanks for the info. I've used fork mounts bolted to 1" tube aluminum with some rubber ends for the purpose. That allows you to fabricate any size or shape you might want or start over with very little expense. I prefer low-tech whenever possible. Keep posting, you've got great ideas.

Here we are in Sedona, Az. This was taken on Schnebly Hill Road.

Jim, I surfed about 20 pages into your 61 page photo gallery yesterday.

You have some fantastic shots! Beautiful sunsets, animals, landscapes, etc. I really enjoyed them and will continue to surf though the other 41 pages ASAP.

Thanks Ton and kc. If you are only on page 20 you are about to last fall. That is about when I got the new camera. But there are some really neat alaska pictures from last summer (I wish we had the fwc then). We will be heading towards the UP of Michigan here in the next few weeks. Have Fun!

I think it is about 11 miles and took us about 1 and 1/2 hours, taking pictures and stopping to look at the sites.

Welcome to the world of Four-Wheel Campers

Hi Jim and Sue --

I too am a new Eagle owner. We've spent about two dozen nights in it so far, with no complaints.

Wondering what kind of gas mileage you're getting on the mothership in these days of pricey gasoline. I'd be curious to see a picture of your entire rig, also, if you've got one. Thanks.

Paul
