I'm seeing multiple sources reporting Waze has just added a Snow Warnings feature. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out this winter in my area.
This Waze launches 'Snow Warning' feature w/ winter reports for ice, unplowed snow article appears to say the basis for the data would be Waze app users opting to report individually by selecting Hazards > Weather > Unplowed Road.
But in my local news, this Waze navigation app can now report unplowed roads article also says my state's Department of Transportation has partnered with Waze to allow it to pull data from their traffic web site.
I'm interested to see if it's at all useful to me. On interstates, I prefer the Apple Maps depiction of the road and traffic slowdowns ahead but (sometimes) also have Waze running to warn of police activity and road hazards.
