Note: If you ever travel I-40 through western New Mexico and wished there was a convenient and nice place to camp not far off the freeway, be sure to read Part 1, Mount Taylor. Note, the campgrounds I mention are only open from May 15th through September 15th.

There is a new adventure posted on Bosque Bill's Backroads travel & camping blog. You can start with Part 1 and simply follow the links to the subsequent chapters, or skip to your area of interest.

Wow Bill, what a wonderful trip and report. I couldn't put my phone down until I read all four. Thanks for sharing. jd

Very nice trip report, thanks! We live in AZ (lived in NM for 5 years, too) and have been to all the places you visited. It's big, open country out there. We love the Southwest for both its biological and cultural diversity. Will have to try the Hogan Restaurant.

We were out in that same areaaround that same time, and got stuck in that same snowstorm between Jacob Lake and the rim. Such beautiful country!

I'd be willing to bet that the white van you mention is My Wild Dreams from the Western Odyssey trip report. Small world!

I enjoyed your report and the photos. Fun to see some of the same places we visited last fall through your eyes and some new places as well. Thanks for the report.

Bill. Thanks for the entertaining and informative report. A question a little off topic. Did you mount the maxtrax (or whatever brand they are) with the double sided tape you mentioned in another post? I looked but couldn't find a post on how you mounted them. I've been looking cause the dog is sick of sharing her back seat with my maxtrax

Thanks again!

Ron

Thanks for the nice comments, longhorn1, Vic, OpenSpace, Rdy2Roam, Horseshoe, takesiteasy, and Ron.

Ron, I intend to post my how-to on mounting the MaxTrax, so stay tuned.

You covered a lot of ground on a great trip! Thank you so much for the informative and well crafted report, it is appreciated! :)

Great narratives and stunning pics, Bill. I'm a real fan of all your blogs, keep 'em coming!
