Hoping the colder winter this year kills off some of the beetles.

The die off may have occurred anyway, though at a much slower pace, as a natural warming and drying of climate coming out of the last ice age. Recent accelerated warming is likely to have increased the die offs. I suppose pinyon - juniper forests will replace the dead firs and Douglas firs. It is startling to see the changes happening so quickly, though.

We do have to remember the earth is a dynamic rock.
We living things just have to adapt to the changes.
