I don’t ever recall seeing rays like these The sun is setting, and these are the Wallowa Mountains, a good 35 miles to the east of us My suspicion is the light hitting the Wallowa peaks is bouncing back to the clouds over the valley.

I have a similar photo, but it's actually the sun behind the Sierra Nevada peaks hitting the mid level cloud deck. The photo wasn't taken with a phone, so I won't post it.
