I just purchased a new 2014 Fleet (Tacoma 6 ft bed) from Denny at Jackson Hole FWC and have a question concerning the propane box I added from the factory. It has a plastic insert and I want to run a line to a Catalytic style heater. I'm assuming I just drill a hole where I want to run the line. Do I need to be concerned as to where I drill or is it simply wood and plastic.

Another question is what size bottle(s) do I purchase and what do you recommend in order to secure the bottle(s). I've been told it will hold two 5 gallon tanks.

Any help you might provide will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Park,
From the FWC spec sheet I believe that your propane locker will hold (2) 10lb tanks. They hold 2.5 gals. of propane each. I would use a thru hull fitting to seal the hose/cabinet. Cut to fit the cabinet floor a piece of 3/4" put the tanks on the ply, trace the base and cut out the holes. When installed in the cabinet the tanks sit in the holes keeping them from shifting around. You can use footman loops and webbing to secure them down. Did FWC cut out a vent in the floor of the cabinet?

You'll want to cut a vent hole in the bottom towards the rear before the last floor "joist" and cover it with a screen to keep the critters out. What are the measurements of the door? I'm thinking of adding it to the side of my camper for my water heater.
Cheers
