I'm looking to buy a Propex HS2000 or a HS2800 soon. I would have preferred to buy a used one over the crazy prices the new ones are now going for, but i've had no luck in finding one. If anyone has any tips on where to find one in stock for a reasonable price, please let me know. They all seem to be in the $1k range right now.

What are the pros and cons for the HS2000 vs the HS2800 in a Hawk FWC? Available space won't be an issue, but power consumption is obviously. They show the same power consumption on paper, but I find that hard to believe. Should I go for one model over the other?

Thanks

I’ve had both. I thought the 2000 not at all overpowered for the Hawk,, so when I moved to a Grandby sized ATC Puma, I got the 2800. Power consumption is just for the fan, which is not much at all. The 2800 is physically bigger, and that may impact how you mount it.

The 2800 is not oversized for my rig.

I hope that helps.

Have run the HS2000 in both the campers we have had. Currently have it in a ATC Cougar (8' by 84") and it heats it up just fine in sub freezing temps. Do have a homemade Arctic Pack, but all other insulation is stock. Looked at the 2800 but the size and BTUs seemed too much for this size camper.

i have a hs2000 in my atc ocelot ( 6 1/2' bed) and it works fine. though only used it a couple times.
i needed to use the full length of air intake tubing they provided to get it to work.
go
