Well, I did it. Ordered a new Alaskan. 8-1/2 foot with 36" front dinette and lots of cabinet space. Visited the factory a couple of weeks ago and Bryan could not have been more helpful. :)

Now I just need a truck to put under it...

Great news! I really like the Alaskans, and I agree with you, Bryan and crew are first rate. You're going to be happy with your camper, are you thinking of a flatbed under it?

Wow, new camper and truck...enjoy. Be sure to post pics when you get it.

Congratulations.......

I'm soooooo jealous............... ;)

pictures when you have them please

a low mileage, 3/4 or 1 ton single rear wheel....the 1 ton leaves you the option of really loading the camper up and towing a little something without going over gross weight limits....(especially in Canada)

congrats.
think storage in your truck purchase.
you want an extended cab or double cab if you can get it.
also think about where you want to carry your generator and spare fuel / propane tank.
I am going to mount a front hitch on my F250 and carry my bicycles & extra gear under 200lbs that way.
look for a truck that is a camper special for tie downs and also a connection for a power outlet that you can connect the truck to the camper when driving to charge your battery and keep your fridge cold. the Alaskan camper comes with the forward connection.
have fun shopping.

Congrats on the Alaskan! leaning on going that rout myself the only problem is I live in Florid and it would be a long drive to go pick up.. Would like to get a F350 with a custom utility bed for more storage. cant wait to see some pics of your set up.

I ordered the 8-1/2 foot cabover, with (deep breath) compressor fridge, cassette toilet, exhaust fans, water heater, LED lights, solar panel, 2 group 31 AGMs, and an awning.

The camper order reads "truck TBA," but I am closing in on a one-ton, extended cab, 8' bed, 4x4. I thought I was going to get gas, but then I made the mistake of test-driving a diesel. Oops, there goes the pocketbook.

An extended cab long bed turns out to be a bit of a goose chase, but I hope I am almost there.

Camper is due in June, just like my retirement. :)

Here's the truck. Now we wait for the Alaskan...

Not on the photo cycle yet -- but that sounds exciting! The camper's not due until June.

Wow, that is exactly the rig I'm aiming for. Barring the diesel bit...my wallet hasn't been whacked yet. Bravo!!

I'm visiting the factory next month, can't wait.

Looking forward to more pics, Canyon!
