I know this is going back aways. But by any chance do you know/recall
what refrigerator was used in the very first KEYSTONE's?
I know they've changed/improved and I'm sure you have upgraded since then
so I wouldn't really expect to find one anyway.
By any remote chance though are the units you are currently using the
SAME SIZE as the early units?
Reason being, I'd like to replace the Icebox in my camper with a refrige'
(after all these years? I live out in the high desert country now!) but I
don't really want to have to remodel my surrounding cabinets in order to
do it!
Could you possibly give me the actual "opening size" (height x width x depth)
required for the current units? And any other spec's would be appreciated.
I understand that with the newer units that being "level" is not such a
"critical" factor these days. Is this true? Thanks

new fridge

The dimensions of the refer are as follows:
Height 20 5/8"
Width 17 1/2 "
Depth 19 7/8"

That is the actual size of the refer that slips into the opening that you would have for it. The hole size is as follows according to the manufacturer:

Height 20 7/8"
Width 17 3/4"
Depth 20 7/8"

Now there is a trim piece around the outside of the refer on the front that you screw through to secure the front of the refer to the cabinet and that size is as follows:

Height 21 9/16"
Width 19 5/16"

There are also two vents that you use on the outside of the camper. The upper vent is just a slotted piece while the lower vent opens to get to the controls of the unit. The hole sizes for these are as follows:

Upper Vent - 7" high 19 1/4" long

Lower Vent - 10" high 19 1/4" long

We currently have a 3 1/4" space between these vents.

Here are a couple of pictures of the vents. Not the greatest shots. If you need better pictures I can take some later today when we get the camper outside.

Refer

As to the actual refer that was used in the Keystone, I don't know right now. I will ask Jeff when he comes in this morning and find out for you.

refer

Just talked to Jeff and the original refer in the keystone was either a Dometic or Sanyo. He said there was another brand that they used but they went out of business years ago.

He also pointed out that the original refer was a 3.0 cubic foot instead of the 1.9 that we use today. So you should have plenty of room for the current one that we use or we could check into the price of 3.0 cubic foot if you would like.

Re:refrige' Question

BenBurnett.
Thank you for your time, reply, pic's regarding my refrigerator question.
It looks like the original hole in my Keystone will accommodate the current
1.9 cu.ft. reefer' okay.
The biggest job obviously would be installing the outer vents/doors.

I'm thinking on the 3.0cu.ft you mentioned, I might decide to check it out.
Though I imagine it's going to be pretty pricey?

What would the price be on the 1.9cu.ft.? And could you ship/have shipped
a unit to my Big Pine home? What would that cost?

Thanks again...Coop

refer

We could ship it to you. Cost would be 400.00 plus shipping. That would include the vents. I have no idea what shipping would be. If I had to guess, somewhere around 50.00 to 75.00. To be honest you can probably find the refer cheaper at camping world or other RV type store. We don't have the discount prices that they do.

The 3.0 I would have to check on a price if you want one.
