Looking at a used Alaskan, but would want to remove the air conditioner. How hard would it be to seal up the opening? Maybe replace with a Fantastic Fan? Thanks.

The stock opening will be 14 x 14 to accommodate a vent if its been cut ? Who would cut into the roof? That is hella dumb. It will always look like a patch job. When I was in the African heat I noticed guys on camels would layer on more wool clothing, while the tourists would be wearing tee shirts and shorts.

Best guess is it would be a reasonably doable project. You might call the factory and talk to Bryan or Rick to get dimensions confirmed. I don’t know if there is DC circuitry going to the air conditioner that will be of sufficient size to handle the fan. What’s there is probably small, like 22 gauge for the thermostat, but you should be able to repurpose the shore power wiring to handle the fan.

All standard rooftop ACs use the same size opening as all standard roof vents. Most of the truck campers don't have 12 VDC at the AC unit which would pose a challenge for a power vent. Really not much work to pull an AC unit and drop in a vent.
