I need to replace the battery in my 2002 Tundra. I have looked at Interstate and Optima red top. Any suggestions?

Hi Frank. Welcome back. Hope you had a good trip.

Sounds like you want to go with an AGM for the truck. We've always used standard vehicle batteries in our Tundra. But I have used Optima and Interstate AGMs in the camper. The Interstate seems to take longer to drain, but that is when using appliances. Not sure if that will translate to use as a vehicle battery.

If your ever need to replace it while it is still under warranty, Interstate dealers are going to be much easier to find. Especially if your are on the road.

I just put two (850CA) Ford Motorcrafts in my truck at $97 ea. The date code on my last ones were 01/2001. Now that's long life!

Thanks, I was leaning toward the interstate MPT27 85 month warranty. I like the idea of having dealers all around the country. Not sure the interstate is an AMG.
