Hi all,

Just wanted to close the loop on my posting from a few months ago. I just got my camper back last Wednesday all repaired and with some great upgrades as well! The guys at four wheel did a great job with it. I was able to take it out on a short overnight with a couple friends this weekend and had a fabulous time...can't wait for more adventures ahead.

Wow that sucks, butI'm glad you got it back now!!

My last camper was a wood framed hard side camper. I was side swiped on the highway by an old woman without insurance. Minimal truck damage, but the jacks were bent in, damaging the frame and loosening the tie down anchors. Fortunately I always make sure I insure the camper as a rider policy on the truck, so my insurance fixed it. Being wood framed, it was fixed locally. Definitely make sure your camper is covered under your policy in case someone without insurance hits you.

Good luck with the trip west.

Keep your head up brother! Your trip will come! Timing is everything and maybe it just wasn't the right time. I had a trip planned that got pushed back by a year due to the death of my father... Life throws you curves but we keep on swerving! Best of luck! Hope to see you on the road!

Yes, definitely add to renters or homeowners if you're unloading it. It is cheaper for me to cover it under auto and homeowners than to get a separate RV policy. I would suspect that to be true for most.

Glad it got fixed, where abouts in VA are you? Aren't too many FWCs out our way.

I leave my camper on 90% of the time along with the jacks. I feel that the jacks sticking out keep other vehicles away from mine. Would show you a picture but haven't figured out how to post a pic on this site. The old guy I bought if from did the same thing. Just before I bought it he hit the jack and bent the corner. I bought it as is and fixed it myself. Not perfect but it has worked for 5 or 6 years. You can see the jacks in the avatar.
