Roof Sealant

Hello,
I am replacing my front vent with a MaxxFan. Are there any recommendations for a good roof sealant?

The butyl tape does most of the sealing. I was surprised when I installed my maxx air that it was still soft and pliable after twenty years. Some people remove it and apply new but I didn't. I added a little new in couple spots and ran it. Doesn't leak. Just make sure whichever sealant you use has good uv resistance.

I like butyl tape under the fan mounting flange. Then the mounting screws. On top of all that either a good tape like Eternabond or Flexseal or a Dicor or similar self-leveling sealant.

Silicone caulking not recommended.
