Roof strut install

I’m looking to install rear roof struts on my hawk shell. Any advice on doing so?

Great. Thank you. I’ve found the helpful advice of what to purchase, I was hoping to find a more in detail of measuring and to either to screw/bolt/rivet etc. i couldn’t find any of that.

What do you have on your roof? 30# struts are great for empty roofs, #40 are good for small solar panels. I have #80 on mine, and nearly new set of 40# in my garage collecting dust.

You should install front and rear...the fronts are more helpful than rears.

Good luck with the project......set a day aside to complete it well.....read thru all the discussion.

What screws? Bedding sealant....what weight lifts, how best to secure to camper framing ? etc. etc.

I threw bolted both the bottom of both the front and rear mounts then used #10 3/4" hex head bolts for the top mounts.
