I went out to the rally Friday night. Got there in the dark. Was greeted by the friendly folks and chatted until we all decided to hit the rack. Got up in the morning and we all talked more, and more and more. This gang loves to discuss anything and everything imaginable. I had to leave early with my son Ian.

Here are a few pictures of the camp and folks.

Thanks for coming out Keith.

It was great meeting both you and your son.

I got a ride in the Jeep today.

Fun!

And while we were out we found a lost (stuck) FWC customer and got him to the camp area.

Good times.

: )

Great pictures Keith,
I enjoyed meeting you and your son and talking "FWCamper" with you this past weekend. I will get my pictures up as soon as possible. Hope to see you again some day out on the trail.

Jim

Thanks for putting this together. I'll try and get a couple of pix up this week.

And for the record I didn't get stuck... I almost got stuck!

Thanks for coming out !

It was great to have you and your daughter join us.

Next time we will have better directions.

I think at least 2 or 3 people took the road you took and ended up in the sandy area or getting some bush pin striping on the side of their truck.

Your truck and camper are looking good.

Nothing like a little adventure on your first FWC outting, huh?

But doesn't the story sound better if we came to rescue you, even though you didn't really need our help?

:) *giggles*

I was just having fun getting a ride in Rich's jeep !

I think Rich & I were glad to get away from the African Killer Bees swarming us !

:)

... *strecthes story a little more* ...

I have to ask, were there any pink flamingo sitings?

For that to happen, one WTW member in particular would have to be present. They don't call him the Flamingo Wrestler for nothing.

That's wrangler, not wrestler! Sheese, you lose one fight to a plastic flamingo and you're branded for life. In my defense it was a pretty big plastic bird.

Ooops, sorry about that. And I still think you would have won if your weren't holding DD's beer and yours.

The first Four Wheel Camper Rally went very well and a good time was had by all as the following pictures show.
Some of us went hiking Saturday. Your host (me) said distance was only 2/10's of a mile to the Marshall South homesite trailhead. Actual distance 1.5 miles so we hardy hikers hiked total of 5 miles including the roundtrip 2 miles to Marshall South home.

We all were pretty tired afterward so the party began a few hours early.

Saturday night we had a potluck with many delicious dishes topped of by 5 pies from the Julian Bakery.

We all look forward to the next one.

Remaining pictures on next post.

I've been up there and have read all Marshall South's writings in the old Desert Magazine.

I sure wanted to be there this time, sorry I missed it.
