Enjoying the report a lot. Knuckleheads are an unfortunate hazard these days no matter where you go. Cool pics- looks like you salvaged an excellent hike out of the spot.

I'll be heading up to the bay area in about a week and plan to head east to Tahoe/Carson City/maybe Reno and then down the 395 home to SoCal. Do you have any places in Tahoe you recommend camping at? I may have to plan to finally get up to Leavitt Lake. Just looks so awesome!
