I figured it was time to build myself a set of heavy duty i-beam sawhorses for my Alaskan. I inspired myself from this plan:
My link
but substituted 2x6's for added strength (except the bottom piece of the ibeam, which is 2x4).

My materials only cost around $78 cdn at Home Depot:
eight 2x6x8ft
one 2x4x8foot
one hundred #8 3" construction screws
two tubes of construction adhesive

I also bought some steel plates that I'll screw to the bottom face of each leg, to prevent wear.

I figure these two puppies should be strong enough to hold the weight of my Alaskan. I made them a couple of inches higher than the bottom of the camper as it sits in the truck, so I will only need to raise and lower a few inches to get it off and on the truck.

Cheers.

It only took a couple of years to get a reply to your post! I built sawhorses from that plan last year. I like that they stack up when not in use. I made mine out of 2x4 and used them to support walkboards to work on another camper project, but they worked to help me get my Alaskan off of my truck, too.
