With the heat taking its toll on both myself and the co-piolt this past week and having a few xtra days off from work, it was determined that a trip to the Sierras was in order for a little Fishing and R&R. So with little more to do than fuel up the rig, ( $180.00 Ouch ) and the loading of a few stores, we hit the HWY for Monache Meadow. Bordered on the West by Kingfisher Ridge and to the north by Brown Mountain, both of which lies within the Golden Trout Wilderness Area, Monache Meadow is a true gem of the Sierras. Here are some pics. The first ones are looking down to the valley floor followed by reminants of the "97" fire and the Kennedy Meadow area.

Hi Les

Was able to get some nice hikes in on Thursday and Friday. Come the weekend, and depending on where you make camp the area can get pretty crowded with trail riders. The fishing was OK, however the Goldens and Hybrids were to continue to elude me. If you like to ride their are plenty of neat trails of various levels that encompass the Kern Plateau.

Tread Lightly !

Marc

Very nice Mark. And I'm jealous Les. Been wanting to do that same route for a long time now.
