shipping truck camper without truck across country

Hi,

I am having some work done on my 4 wheel camper out at one of the factories in California. I live in Colorado. Due to work demands, I don't have the time to just drive it out there.

I would like to have it shipped / trucked out there. Any suggestions for flatbed tuck hauler? hoping to find some company that has space and is hauling other stuff to keep the cost reasonable.

Does FWC still deliver their campers to their dealers themselves? If so, they could load yours up and bring it back after their next delivery to Denver.

Try USHIP.com You post what you want shipped and get bids from individual shippers to transport your cargo.

Be sure you pick someone who has been doing this for awhile and has good reviews. Also make sure they have insurance and meet all the requirements.

I used the venue to find a shipper to move a 16 foot box trailer from Missouri to California.

Both the above are good options. Another option is going through a load broker, A.K.A. shipping agent. That’s how a lot of freight gets moved. It’s kinda/sorta like USHIP, you give them the details of what you want shipped, when and where, they arrange the shipping. There is a license/bonded/insured aspect to it, make sure to ask that they are and their commercial hauler is.

At the risk of stating the obvious, one thing to think and ask about is where you want it picked up/delivered. If you’re in off grid Colo vs the greater Denver area, Pueblo, Grand Junction, basically somewhere not on a main thoroughfare it will effect the price. Probably the last thing to consider regardless of how you get it hauled is getting it loaded/unloaded. If FWC or some specialty shipper isn’t doing it, and campers aren’t readily considered roll on/roll off, there needs to be some method to get it on and off.
