I always roll my ratchet straps as shown, minus the swing out hook to secure the end. Nice, I will remember that. I don't have a ratchet strap bucket or box. I keep a set in my 4Runner in a milk crate with other bric-a-brack; I keep a set in a small military surplus ammo can mounted atop a fender on my utility trailer.
