Solar Charger

Ask them how long the cables are to determine if it will work while on the roof. Below on the same page are several extender cables with MC4 connectors on each end any of which should be of sufficient length to reach from the solar panel on the roof down to the charge controller. Just be sure to keep the cables from the charge controller to the batteries short.

The package looks good but I have no experience with that product. Ask questions on Amazon for someone using the product if no one here has experience with it.

Has anyone had any luck with this portable solar charger? I am wondering if the cables are long enough to reach from the roof, through the side, and to the battery located next to the cab.

I just received the exact solar charger kit today. The cable from the solar panel is 2" shy of 15'. To test the panel I ran the cable from the front of the roof and down through the turnbuckle access door and plugged it into the controller. The cable from the controller to the battery clips are 13' long. Today was cloudy and the output was around 2 amps. My battery was at 12.5v before charging and 12.7v after 4 hours ( no load).
I see you're in Grass Valley too and I'd be glad to show you the kit.

I have this exact product. I don't use the controller that came with it. Running in parallel with my current system this panel has proven excellent.
By the way the panel is made by sunpower.
Also check elsewhere that price went up considerably since I purchased on Amazon.

Thanks everyone. Your responses are helpful. Just got back from a trip and now am going to make the purchase. Ronin, thanks for the offer of seeing your system. I'll let you know if I decide to take a look. Good to know you like the charger.
