solar panel cable routing and fridge vent

Can I run solar panel to charge controller cables through the fridge roof vent. My panel will be near the vent, and I would prefer not to put more holes in my sixpac TCs roof than necessary. Cable routing works well through the voids where the fridge mounts. I was trying to figure reasons not to do this, and frankly all I came up with is rain water chasing the cables and getting into the camper while driving. Are there any other reasons to avoid this routing?

That is a very common way of installing the solar wiring. I don’t recall anyone saying don’t.

Is everyone screwing/bolting to rubber roofs? Im guessing no one trusts "glueing" it to a rubber roof and that all those references are to fiberglass and aluminum roofs?

are you talking for mounting the panel? I wouldnt think the thin rubber roof would be nearly strong enough to hold a panel in high winds let alone small branches.

Rubber roof? All FWC/ATC are aluminum.

I forgot how rubber roofs are glued to the wood underneath, wind force on the panel might lift the rubber off of the wood. I’d still be very leery of screws. You might give a company like AM Solar a call to see if they have an attachment method that is reliable on a rubber roof.

BTW, my first camper was a top of the line Fleetwood Caribou, with rubber roof. The roof wood under the rubber was some type of fiberboard. The roof leaked, the camper was pretty much ruined.
