Solar wiring diagram

Those voltages you refer to are the specs for the LOAD connections of your SunSaver. These are normally connected to your 12V fuse panel. The load connections will disconnect all power at 11.5V, and reconnect when the battery is charged up enough... which it deems to be 12.6v.

Those voltages have nothing to do with connecting or disconnecting the PV panel. It is always connected.

The manual (page 40) - https://www.solar-electric.com/lib/wind-sun/SunSaver-manual.pdf says that for 12V AGM batteries, the voltages are:

Absorb - 14.1
Float - 13.7

As regards to the BMV not showing charging current, I suspect you have a wiring error on the shunt. There should be only ONE wire connected to the -ve terminal on your battery, and that goes to the shunt terminal labeled "To battery". ALL other ground wires should go to the other side of the shunt, including the output of the Sunsaver.

Yes that makes sense to me. After a long trail and error I found that my multi-meter had a blown fuse and was not measuring current, however the voltage sensing remained functional.

With the repaired multimeter, i found that the controller was not working by simply disconnecting the positive PV lead from the controller and measuring the current flow to the battery as in this document:

I replaced the controller and the system is working as expected. While this issue took a lot of time to resolve, it was beneficial, as I thoroughly understand the PV system, and have become adept at removing the cabinet panels for accessing the controller
