I was itching bad to try out the new upgraded suspension so while the wife was at a weekend girls event, I decided to do a quick overnighter on the central coast.
Someone thinks my leg is a pillow
Surf was bad but I decided to get wet regardless of the conditions
After getting camp situated, we went for a hike. The dogs were off leash all weekend. No need to worry about getting tazed by rangers
Excellent views
The setup
Amazing sunset
The wind picked up. Noticed the sideways fire. I knew this was a sign of things to come.
Nothing like bbqing carne over an open fire
Burrito time with Simpler Times
Surf still sucked so I met up with a buddy and his family so we just chilled at the beach. Attempted to fish for perch but the shore pound was just too strong
Decided to take the longer scenic route home based on a post from a member here (SN starts with S and ends with Man)
Pavement begins and the weekend ends ; (
The only bad part of the trip was the super strong winds in the middle of the night. I was drifting in and out of sleep trying to decide if I should drop the top and sleep on the couch. The wind got so bad it was rocking my truck and caused my leaf springs to squeak. Even with the top dropped, my truck was still rocking like crazy so at around 2 am i decided to find a more sheltered spot. For future trips where high winds may be a factor, I may leave the rear corner jacks in place to help stabilize the truck. My rear built deavers and coilovers felt great , although my Camburg UCA could use a rebuild. On the way there, I got almost 17 mpg.
