It might seem counter intuitive to have a truck camper, then wanting to add an SUV tent!

I go dirtbike riding with a friend and it gets crowded to have 2 people, all the gear and coolers etc crammed into the camper, and the truck cab etc.

Has anybody found a decent SUV tent that works on a FWC camper?

The extra space would make long weekends a lot more manegeable in terms of being comfortable. The other reason it would make sense is that we could use a porta-potty with some privacy.

TIA for any inputs.

Why not just pitch a separate tent? That's what we do when we have extras. We have a 7x7 tent if it's just one extra and 10'x14' Coleman Instatent if there's a crowd.

I sort of agree with MotoDave and his pictures -and i spend most of my time under the awning that comes with my FWC or out and about, and go inside only when i have too-like sleeping, morning coffee or weather. You could always take a tarp or one of those commercial thingies and just drape it over the back, like you can do with a back packer tent I guess. But again, I know some folks that never use the awning at all. You use the pop up to get there and enjoy what ever you do and go in only when you have too. Of course, I remember more than a few beers inside with several friends and dogs when weather interrupted our party :p outside!

Some possibilities:
1. If you have the Fiamma awning, look at their Fiamma Privacy Room.
2. Pop up canopy with walls or screens
3. Nemo Bugout Shelter/screen room
4. FWC Rear awning. Add some side tarps hung from the horizontal bars and place a large family tent behind that
5. Have a custom SUV tent made

That may be the way we go, if theres more than 2 of us out riding for the weekend, then the separate tent may be more desirable.

If it's just the 2 of us I was thinking joining to the camper may be more conveniant.

I thought of that, but have some cashflow issues. I'd thought of making the poles/structure, and then going to a local sail maker and getting something sewn up. I figure maybe $300 parts and labour.
