The OBX and Cape Lookout National Seashore, NC

In early May 2023 I did a run out to the Outer Banks (OBX) of North Carolina and made my first visit to the Cape Lookout National Seashore (CLNS). I've visited the OBX many times over the years but never made the commitment to visit the wonder of CLNS. CLNS requires a ferry ride over to a mostly unimproved, remote, barrier island. Very limited services/visitor facilities are on the island. No coastline developments, no crowds, just plenty of this:



There are many miles of beach, back roads, old settlement remains, and the Cape Lookout lighthouse complex to tour and enjoy.
