I processed a photo today, and I noticed a strange phenomenon. It appears that the crossbill's foot has been grabbed by a tiny severed hand. It had me going for a bit, but I think it is something like bumblefoot, which is a bacterial infection that targets birds and rodent. The fingers are probably scale ridges on the toe, and the palm is probably the pad on the toe. Interesting...

Could be the sneaky bird in the background reaching through a crack in the limb and grabbing the foreground bird's toe. Birds do have tiny hands don't they?
