Wanted to say thanks to all of the great people here. Those of you who have asked/answered so many questions. Those with trip reports and links to amazing places.

After many years of planning, scheming, I just got off of the phone with Jeff at ATC. Yep, another "i'm having a camper built" post.

When we got our current camper in 2010, we both really liked it, loved the places we could get to; but always kind of thought it could be more suited to "us".
After some of you folks started doing flatbeds, I knew the day was going to come for us to take the plunge as well.

When my truck started nosing closer to 250k miles, it was time for an upgrade. Which I did, I had known that a diesel was in the future. Add in several of my buddies having flatbeds, and seeing how easy it is to work off of, knew it was a matter of time for that as well. Truck check, flatbed check, and now custom ATC flatbed camper to be started this fall.

It will be a long wait, but I have increased my work load tremendously in the last 18 months. We have a bucket list vacation in Dec, a new truck, custom bed and now custom camper. Lots of stuff to pay for, so the extra work Is a good thing.
Thanks for this amazing pool of knowledge guys!
Made this an easy choice.

Thanks for the kind words, trying to be patient, but it isn't something I am good at.
The boys at ATC have been awesome, listening to my goofy ideas and going the extra mile(s) to make it happen.
No photos of course yet, just the drawings and the "before" truck/camper new truck/bed stuff. Will be bugging them to send my state of build photos to share though.
The build itself is going to be a little different, not crazy, just a few of my own ideas. Just wanted it to be ours, and of course fit as many needs as possible.
Very glad I am insanely busy, might be making road trips over there otherwise.

Fireball,
Have to admit that this stuff has been a blast to come up with.
Truck is 2016 F350 cc, bed is protech, aluminum, steel boxes on sides, and custom box on back, where skirt with lights usually is. All sprayed with bed liner. Size of bed is 7ft w by 9 ft

Camper will fit bed
Photos show basic layout of camper.
went with open back end, will use camp chairs and folding table instead of fixed dinette. Can sleep back there in stealth mode, use for additional storage while traveling, find dinettes to be heavy and a poor fit
Dual propane tanks with smart regulator
25 gal water
Will have furnace and wave 6
two 6volt batts in box on left pass side
150 solar with ext plug for portable solar
arctic pack
Roof things
passenger side counter will have two small drawers and be open underneath for engle on slide
bed slide extension to make a queen(ish) sized bed
Door at far rear of passenger side
reinforced rear for maxtrax placement

also have a hitchgate from wilco offroad to hold additional spare and ten gal of fuel

The wait is almost over! Have photos from the boys at ATC. Camper was completed while I was on vacation. Am back in MT working, and am hoping to get over there in about two-three weeks.
A few minor things to add, propane connections, possible floor covering(padding), mattresses and lastly I am going to get it wrapped. Just can't put a big white box on a dark grey truck. Will be ready by our spring trip to GSENM. The wait has been a bit tiring, but I know it will be worth it.

Wango, have you picked it up yet? Can't wait to see pics!

Gussie,
Still trying to get over/down there to pick it up(Sacramento). I work in a ski town in MT, and right now snow and ice removal is a busy field to be in.
The truck gets new shocks and a minor suspension tweak on Wed. And I have the wrap tentatively scheduled also. I need four days off to go and get it and get back. Hoping for the end of this week and beginning of next.
I have most of the stuff to outfit it also.
Anxious.

The Waiting Ends.
2350 miles. Big Sky, MT to Albany, OR to Sac.
Sac to Big Sky.
More photos to come. Long 3 1/2 days.
The ATC boys knocked it out of the park.
