(I think I can put this here...it's potentially a trip...)
Any of you folks ever been to the point where Idaho, Nevada and Utah meet?
This spot:
The recent mention of the geographic center of Nevada got me thinking about the opposite of "center" -- the corners.
I found an old article (1999) about erecting a monument/marker there, so there should be something to find:
Statue to mark where states' borders meet
I've been to the point where Idaho, Nevada and Oregon meet. It's in the middle of nowhere, but accessible by a fenceline dirt road (as I recall...it's been a long time).
And I've been to the point where California, Nevada and Oregon meet -- a short hike from a major gravel road.
It's crossed my mind, now and then, that the final 3-states point in "my territory" -- the Great Basin Country -- would be ID-NV-UT, and it seems like it would be a worthy goal. Looks like it would be, at most, a couple of miles hike from the nearest road.
Seems like autumn would be the time to do such a trip to this spot -- without the heat of summer, snow of winter, and mud of spring....maybe this autumn.
So...just wondering if anyone has been there or near it -- ? What's it like?
