I assume you are somewhere in the Southwest....and good for you !

I wanted to mention that there appears to be shaping up a very good wildflower bloom due to abundant rains in late winter.

Encourage you to try to see at least some of the desert blooms....truly a natural spectacle.

9th day 5 more heading south then north along East Sea of Cortez. Thereafter north NM and north AZ after Borrego Springs area in March. Any suggestions on camping dispersed and places to see the bloom?

The Bloom can wait...go to Aqua Verde while you are in Baja Sur !

Not sure how far South in Baja you are traveling....if near Bahia de Los Muertos take the road out to it.... fantastic place and great diving....several years ago but road in was of course dirt but in good shape...North of Cabo and SW of La Paz,,,

Just wanted you to know
over two months on the road and we did go there...the wicked hard way. Crossing the mountains
on a road that was as bad as some of the roads I traveled in Peru Andes 50 years ago!
Yes I could have gone around but my wife said hey I think there is a short cut!
If you have nothing to do for a bit (snowed in?) ...here is the update
We just crossed back into US after 4 weeks in Baja on the back roads... broke a bunch of stuff...
But I'm still kicking and there are some good photos.
Due to weather we probably still need to keep south going back to the fridgid NE. So maybe 1o more days.
Thanks for the heads up it was a nice 3 days on a great beach appreciating I was still alive.

hey buckland. nice trip report to and from baja !
we went down in dec, but only had 12 days or so. looking forward to going back.
i may try and hit you up for of a camp by camp listing. i was having a bit of trouble reading the blog, and trying to figure out where the heck you two were.

Nice trip report Rob! The young couple from Quebec you mentioned , they were probably driving a brownish Chev/Gmc 1/2 ton Crew Cab right? Chatted with them outside a grocery store in LaCrucacita , Huatulco , in late Jan. They told me they were heading up to catch the ferry over to Baja.

Thanks Frank, Dark skies are wonderful. We are in the Anza desert near Borrego Springs out on a sandy road in the mountains. Feels great to be back in US and boon docking in such a beautiful spot. It would seem to me that Venus jumped over Jupiter and switched positions. I'm gonna keep blah blah blogging until I pull in the driveway. Thought I'd chronicle the start to finish so when I can't remember I'll be able to rewind!

Welcome back to the USA Rob. You may want to take this poor weather as an opportunity to visit death valley. It is our go-to place when winter lingers too long in the southwest. You can't beat 200 feet below sea level for a place likely to be at least warm. Some of the best exploring and scenery in the US we think.

Yes tonight's settings are about 15 minutes apart,with Jupiter setting first.

It is indeed a great place to go. I was there a long time ago. We have so much ground to cover and must head east. I will return!
