Nice synopsis TT..we seriously ate like royalty.

Really enjoyed the hike down to the Sespe for that nice refreshing dip this morning, perfect way to cap it all off and rejuvinate!

Boy was that swimmin hole a treat!
I think we all had a good time, 'cept for my dog..Pobrecita La Pinta..she's doing fine now, home on the carpet, curled up in her corner..wondering what the hell the last two days were about..

Nice meeting y'all!

Swimmin' hole? You guys didn't upset any fishermen, did you?

I saw no drinking of alcoholic substances except for the just post siesta beers. I did note that the guys had cleaned up from whom ever camped there last as they left several bottles behind. Always leave it better than you found it, right? ;)

The road up to the ridge line was as rough as I have ever seen it.

We decided that as interested as we were in seeing the point that TT mentioned, we were less than interested in finding out what the occupants of the white jeep-thing were doing over there. So we left it for another trip.

Was the white 4 door PSD still semi-off the trail when you guys pulled out? Overheated their auto trans (was their oil trail all the way up the hill) and that's where they finally ran out of fluid. They were looking at a cold night on the hill sans blankets/sleeping bags/etc. until we came along and gave the guy and his wife a lift back into Ojai where they live. Since they didn't appear to own a second capable vehicle I'm wondering if and how they were able to get back up there to it. The guy told me that once cooled off and with about a gallon of more ATF that it would again be mobile. Is supposedly a known problem with the 7.3 autos?

Yes that vehicle was still on the road and the oil/fluid trail was still visible all the way down the hill the following day. We reckoned they had one helluva walk out but I guess they were lucky you guys came along.

We too were curious about the white jeep. They weren't back there very long and left not long after you.

I can't believe this place is almost in my back yard and I didn't know about it. What great food, company, refreshments and scenery. Being a non-cook it was embarrassing to only be able to offer tubular steaks and ice cream after being served buckets of ceviche, swordfish tacos, shrimp, huevos con al pastor, grandma's seafood salad and the midnight tri-tip tacos. All washed down with a little cervesa and tequila.

Pictured below is a view of Topa Topa, our camp overlooking Ojai, Santa Paula, Ventura, Oxnard and the SB channel and our protectors Dylan and Gunner.

Saturday morning started a little slow for some unknown reason. Pictured below is our breakfast chef TT cooking up the huevos con al pastor. Marc and Suni waiting for the action.

Awesome gents! And that rascal Thom showed up too? Even better...

Never a shortage of scenic spots and good times with the California guys.
.

I had to go KC, it was in my backyard! :)
I've been intending to go up there and have a look around, and specifically at that camp area, for a very long time. Being able to meet new folks just cinched my resolve.

So now when are we going to be able to get you into the area?
