We are planning a fall 2015 trip to the Sierra east side and Tuolumne Meadows CG. Are you required to remove food from a pop-up truck camper and put it in the bear box at Tuolumne Meadows? I did try a search but came up empty.
The last time we were at the Tuolumne Campground was a couple years ago in a VW camper. At that time we were allowed to leave food in the car out of sight during daylight hours, but had to put it all in a Bear Box at night.
Thank you. I was hoping for an improvement or update of the rules from a recent camper visit since emptying our camper of food will require a major reorganization and a lot of carrying. Another winter project.
Our last stay in a Yosemite campground was November 2011 in the Valley's Upper Pines Campground. We were told to keep all foodstuffs in the camper. In bear country, whenever away from the camper or overnight, I empty the gray water in the cxt vault and put the container in the bear box.
