Used Camper Alert Thread

We called on this one just a Warning the kid is playing the Craigs list trade up game. Told us he just purchased it for $5900 he has a second Craigs list posting for $7900. Claims he has a Tacoma and needs the Eagle but seems content to sit on the camper till he gets his trade up price of $7900. We offered $6900 which was fair

Next day we found a 2001 mint condition garage kept Northstar at a price we couldn't pass up. So my Uncle is now set up with his pop top rig and is starting to plan some trips to test it out.

Good luck to you folks still shopping!!!

Not sure he found it locally by word of mouth older one 2001 model fits his old 1989 Chevy short bed exactly. His brother found the pickup a few months back up in Corvalis Oregon via word of mouth truck only has 40K on it original owner passed away and the family was getting ready to sell it. So for less than 18K he has a very clean nearly new adventure rig. He's no stranger to this stuff typically spends several weeks a year up in Montana with some friends but this is the first time he's had comfy accomidations packed along for the trip.

EBay find:

FWC Hawk 2003 - Starting bid $8000
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Four-Wheel-Camper-Hawk-2003-NO-RESERVE-Ford-Chevy-dodge-toyota-tundra-f150-/191327331789?_trksid=p2054897.l4275

!!Caution. Proceed with caution!!

From his description and the video link, the owner does not seem to know the model very well. For example, he states he purchased it for his Tacoma. The Hawk is not made for the Tacoma.

Might still be a good find for someone who can check it out prior to bidding.

You might want to view his video: http://youtu.be/TOV-hXi4Ao4

The last two pictures in his Ebay listing are not the same camper, front dinette by the windows. Caution indeed.

Boy that last one is an odd one....clearly not an FWC, lift system is all different. Also, never seen that three burner stove in an FWC. Overhead cab also looks deeper than an FWC. I am thinking maybe an early Phoenix or even maybe an Outfitter?

At 1500 its a steal no matter what it is.

This is the same guy with the Socal craigs listing that we called and spoke with. His story was a little odd claimed that he bought the Hawk for $5900 then realized he needed the Eagle for his Tacoma and needed to sell it - we found two craigs listings one for $6570 something and one for $7900 both the same guy and photos etc. We offered $6900 thinking well he gets his money back +$1000 and can go get an Eagle. His response was no holding out for $7900 the dolly and pictures make me suspect he is a pawn dealer or similar type and he picked this camper up and is going to keep bumping the price based on the level of interest hes getting and that his story is totally BS. So yes I would suggest caution and inperson dealings with this guy if your interested and close enough to persue it.

That Hawk can't be for real. It will sell in 1 min if it is.
Might be real, it is a shell with two windows and side dinette. No water tank, sink, heater, stove or propane. Still a good price for what is there. Extra side window makes it harder to do a build and add a counter.

It should still sell fast at that price.
