A friend told me Airstream has a 3-4 month back log can't build them fast enough. Neighbor sells Yachts for a living has never seen it like this ever. All Cash purchases of boats in the 80-200K range as in 2-3 boats a month. He said the dot com days were crazy but nothing like this rarely did he see 100% cash like he sees today. The big run up in the stock market since 2009 generated a whole lot of money for folks and today its a bit tricky to decide where to park cash in the market given everything feels expensive. He said over the last 30yrs when the market feels expensive and follows a big run up people spend cash on toys and thats what we see happening today. Really good for FWC such a great company glad to hear they are doing really well.SWE said:I thought I would share FWC's current lead time according to a call with a dealer yesterday - I had no idea:
Currently 12 to 14 weeks out once you order for FWC to build. This lead time fluctuates with backlog at factory.
1 to 2 weeks to ship after it is produced as they ship them 3 or 4 at a time.
Dealer will take "a while" to place order because they have a minimum order they must place with factory.
4 new dealers added this year and demand/lead time is at a record.
If you order say the first of March you are looking at June/July delivery.
This is the slow time of the year for orders. Lead times typically go up in the spring/summer substantially.
FWC is now 15 weeks out.CALIcamperdad said:A friend told me Airstream has a 3-4 month back log can't build them fast enough. Neighbor sells Yachts for a living has never seen it like this ever.
