Ever wonder how your rig would fare against a 50' Oak ??

This is going to change my early season wandering plans. I'll be trekking in Nepal for 28 days and when I return in April I'll be shopping for a new truck and FWC/ATC.
 
That's not good!!! Why could that limb have fallen 4 feet either direction on the camper. Trees drop where they will I guess. Good luck with the insurance and enjoy your Trekking trip to Nepal,
 
Sorry for the loss....keep it afterward and rebuild it as a back up camper.

Thanks all for your kind thoughts!! I'm sure I'll be buying another truck as I'm without wheels. In a perfect world, I'd call Marty today and put in my order for an Ocelot or Panther shell model with just a sink,stove, and dinette and anxiously wait 4-5 months for delivery. Realistically though, whatever I get for my Tundra and 4WC won't cover the cost of the truck I'd want to buy. Possibly a '19 Silverado 2500 (??). The camper would have to wait. My thoughts on this changes every few hours so who knows how this will all pan out!!
 
Thankfully you weren’t in it when this happened, no injuries or loss of life.

Deffently not what you wanted to see when you were doing damage assessments after the storm.

Just a thought though, unless you are wedded to that new car smell and unless the accoutrements on the '19 far outweigh those on another truck like the one you want (2500), you might be able to score one with 10,000-20,000 or so miles on it for enough of a price difference to consider ordering your new camper with that as a "Starter Fund" for it. Then by the time it is ready, you might be able to have put aside the rest of the cost of the new camper?

They do show up from time to time and were often never taken off-road or beat to death. I got my F-250 that way when an older couple opted to move to an RV from the 5th wheel set up they had.

I'm leaning towards buying another Tundra. I'll either buy new or maybe just upgrade 2-3 model years with low mileage as you suggest. A new camper is definitely on the drawing board - probably an ATC shell model with just a couple of goodies like stove and heater. I've done so many mods to my Hawk that I know exactly how I"d want to configure the rest. I'm getting a fair settlement on the Tundra but it's going to take some work on my part to prove what my Hawk is worth.
