Update with details

Our Thursday meeting (Aug 5) will be at the town of Likely south of Alturas on Hwy 395. The meeting will be between Noon and One. Likely is the smallest town in the world so finding each other will not be an issue.

From there we can head up and spend Thursday night at Soup Springs Campground. If for any reason Soup Springs does not work, we can fall back to Mill Creek Falls Campground.

SO

If you are coming later on Thursday drop by Mill Creek Falls to verify we didnt need to move then proceed to Soup Springs. This will just be a few miles out of your way.

On Friday I think we will move to Mill Creek Falls as we have at least 2 parties rolling in this day and Mill Creek appears to be bigger. BUT if we find that Soup Springs has plenty of room and we like it there we may setup there Friday night as well so look for us there if we are not at Mill Creek.

I'll get phone numbers from everyone that has committed to go in case of last minute updates. Sorry for the slightly complicated plan but it's tough to know how busy these sites will be and we need to have plan B's in place.

We have a small rally happening in the Warner Mountains of NE California. The plan is to meet between Noon and One on Thursday the 5th at a spot to be determined and head into mountains as a group. If you can't make this rendezvous point but would still like to catch up with us I will be posting our likely locations for the first nights camp. This thread to be updated with additional information soon.

The Warner Mountains are 85 miles in length and my thought is to meet in the southern part of the mountains and then possibly move north over a couple of days. The northern part of the area has some old mines which are obviously the best part :D

Count me in. I will be in the area on the 4th. I will be leaving Weaverville the evening of the 3rd and will be camping somewhere along 299/44/89 East of Hwy5. If anyone wants to meet up on the 4th let me know.

Looking forward to getting together with folks,

Cort

I don't know. It is getting hard to tell the difference between your trip reports and a Clampers Jamboree. Maybe we should go in the opposite direction. ;)

Peer pressure! You guys are getting to me. We'll consider it, but if DD has to escort anyone back to their camper, we're cutting you all off. :p

Ted, nut up, get a case of Pliney, and I'll see you at the Warners. That is an order.
You do realize that a case of Pliney would cost more than $100, right?

BTW, following your recent footsteps this weekend and going to check out Green Creek. DD, where was the trailhead for the hike you went on?

I think you meant "Beer Pressure".

The hike I did was cross-country, I just went straight up the ridge from our campsite. I would not recommend this however as the sage was a lot more dense than it appeared and it was tough going. I believe the trailhead is at the developed campground at the end of Green Creek road.

Bring bug spray!

Hey guys,

Sounds like I will be in the area a day before everyone else. I will likely (pun intended) have time to check out both sites and do some additional exploring.

DD I am PM'ing my Phone #

Does anyone have any objections to me bringing my dog?

Seems like half the members camp with dogs. I haven't seen a rally trip report that didn't have dogs in it. The only thing you need to worry about is how well she does with other dogs.

Pliney!!! I'm so there.

Oh-oh. Only have four bottles. Better go back to the store. :D

Does anyone have any objections to me bringing my dog. She is a well behaved 2 year old mut and loves to go camping

Cort

Yeah I'm sure we'll have a few mutts tagging along.

She does well with others!

I will be bringing some brews from the local breweries in my area.

Cort

I;ll bring my horse with me

But hey; it;s the brew which counts

Potential drives for Saturday:

High Grade Route sounds good. Gold mines for DD, some fishing lakes and potential camping spots.
