while driving through oregon i noticed that all the weigh scales are left active even though they are not open/manned. i decided to take advantage of this and finally weigh my vehicle.

with myself and my two brothers, their gear, 2/3 tank of water, 30 gal of fuel my truck weighed in at

5000 front axle
4800 rear axle

thats a bit more than i ASSUMED

oh well, good to know and thanks to ODOT!

look at my sig for the truck specs.

I'm curious, what is the stated payload capacity of your truck as configured? How much of that 9800# is payload vs curb weight?

I wonder if the scales are functioning in other states when they're not manned? I'll check out WI next time I can.

Yes, everybody knows that Oregon has no sales tax...but few know that other great benefit -- free vehicle weighing!

My truck/camper combination (shown in sig) weighs about 8300 lb, also measured on an ODOT weigh station -- most-recently on US 395 a few miles north of Lakeview.
