Just got back from a trip to Scotts Flat Lake. It is near Nevada City, approximately sixty-five miles from Sacramento. It's close enough for a nice weekend getaway and offers swimming, boat rentals, and fishing. (scottsflatlake.net)
A couple of the pics show the new cargo rack/step on the truck. I got the rack from 4 Wheel Parts, modified it so it mounted closer to the bumper, and added the 2X4 steps. It's low tech but gives us easier entry and exit from the camper and additional storage for stuff we don't want in the camper such as fire wood.

CVC,

Thanks for posting the photos. Step looks good. Have a happy 4th.

nice step...looks like a great time! keep the pics coming, that is a sharp looking rig you have there!

Tom,
No screen door but I'm thinkn' about having one shipped down to me and installing it. Im in the Keys Thur the 19th.

Have you put a screen door on the Ranger?

No screen door yet on the ranger. Haven't had a need yet, uh oh, is that a jinx?? I'll be interested to see how your install goes..I did an install of a new door with screen door on my old fleet and it went fairly smooth..we were lucky I believe..Look forward to checking your new rig. I have a case of Hollywood Beach Lager in my garage for you....

the fourth was rediculous, mayhem on the beach!!

Do you mind if I ask you, do you have regular or tow mirrors?

I am going to have a '08 Cougar on a '07 or '08 Tundra Reg Cab Long Box 4x4, and I am having difficulty determining between stock or tow mirrors.

Thank you very much,
Mike

Before I sold Tom the ranger it was mounted on my old T100. I had the stock mirrors and it worked fine for me. The Hawk sits a little further out on my Ram but again I just take a little care and the stock mirrors are fine. I'm sure towing mirrors are a bit better but I just dont like the way they look on the truck. Personal preference.

Mike,

I have regular mirrors. I've tried the after-market tow mirrors but they vibrated too much and were too hokey. I removed the mechanical jacks to improve my rear vision. I leave the camper on the truck so it's no big deal, but if I didn't and had to mount the jacks each time I wanted to take the camper off, it would be a PITA.
I would get the factory tow mirrors.
