Will FWC over cab camper block functionality of electronics, gps, satellite radio on new Tacoma and other models?

Lots of new model trucks including the 2024 Tacoma have the antenna mounted on the cab roof. Does it block the function of the electronics when a slide in/over the cab camper is installed? If yes, what are some solutions?

On my 3rd gen, AM/FM reception is good, GPS seems to work normally but Sirius is sporadic and varies depending on direction you're driving plus where satellite the is in the sky. Unlike Starlink, Sirius only has 5 satellites in orbit so your antenna really needs a clear view of the sky to catch a signal as only one may be in view at any given time.

One option is to get this remote antenna which has the FAKRA end on it (you need to remove the yellow plastic housing on the end then the metal part plugs straight into back of the Tacoma head unit). The antenna end has a magnetic base so you can try different locations on your truck to find best reception.

Sirius magnetic mount antenna

I'm using it and it is a large improvement but not perfect for reason I did not mount it on top of the camper where it would have 360 field of view. I may switch to a stalk mounted version to get it to camper height but that needs to wait for another day.

More discussion about antenna options including how to access the plug on back of the head unit may be found on this Tacoma forum:

Ok. Thanks. I had a magnetized satellite radio antenna for my 2011 Tacoma/FWC that I placed on the hood with a clear view to the sky. Worked great until I got up in the northern latitudes BC/Yukon/Alaska. Guess there are no satellites up there. Kept the Sirius XM on Outlaw Country. They have a pretty eclectic mix, but after awhile the programming became repetitious. Then they lost their Mojo. Literally.
