Wire gauge for Change from 12v to 6v Batteries in 2013 Hawk

I spent a few hours yesterday dismantling some of the cabinetry so I could gain access to the Iota converter/charger to attempt to adjust the voltage down slightly with the trim-pot. It took a bit of effort to locate the tiny, tiny trim-pot screw, but once I found it I was able to adjust the voltage from 13.6 volts to 13.31 volts (I just couldn't get it to 13.30 volts). It is now dead center of Lifeline's recommendation that float be 13.2 to 13.4 volts. I now need to get longer battery straps since the new 6 volt batteries are a bit taller. I'm also thinking of spending the money for a new solar charge controller that will allow me to adjust the voltages to the optimum charge profile.

I really like my Smart Victron 100/30. Probably only needed a 100/20 but I wanted room to grow W for a long off grid trip.

I pulled the trigger for a new Victron MPPT 100/20 solar controller and have to say the bluetooth programability is awesome! I also upgraded the battery interconnect cable to an 8.5 inch 2 ga cable. I've been playing around with the solar charging and shore power this past week with the new batteries/charge controller/converter-charger and so far it's working perfect!

The Victron 100/20 will be perfect as I run a 160 watt panel on the roof and a 100 portable panel once camp is set-up.
