RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC or Class B or C ??

I have had two Hawks, a 2001 and a 2013 both were on a 2005 Toyota Tundra. They served us well over the years. As me and the wife are over 70 we went to a Class B. 2021 Coachmen on a 2020 Ford Transit 350 HD. I did a Q-lift and went to larger tires. Will never be a rock crawler, but does get us...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West AWD Vehicles Will Be Cited on 4WD Only NP Roads

I have faith that the NPS will start marking more roads 4WD only. Anything to lower the amount of people in the parks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Power for fan over bed ?

What Vic said. I had a vent no fan on my 2001 Hawk. Checked and had 12v wires I used for a new Fantastic Fan. You can feel the cross members in the ceiling over the bed where a second fan can be installed.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Had a Qlift done on my Ford Transit

I did the Q-Lift. 2" is not a lot but every inch helps the way I camp. Next set of tires will add another inch. Yes I looked at Van Compass but the CV joints already have a big bend without adding 2 more inches. Drives fine and the only time I notice the 2 inches is stepping in and out of the...

To get the windshield clean try Bon Ami works great before the RainX treatment. I use the RainX windshield cleaner fluid, quick squirt and the water does run off.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BIG changes to FWC's video

The prices are on the FWC website. I did a side dinette build. About $52K the way I wanted. Add a new 4x4 truck and you are talking real money. But nothing else will give you the comfort in the back country without spending double the money. Glad FWC is making the changes.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Side dinette vs rear dinette vs ?

Have you looked at Camper Builds? Lots of great builds there. I bought a 2013 shell after having a 2001 Hawk for a few years that I changed from a pull-out couch to a side dinette. The 2013 shell did have a rare front table and seats. After visiting FWC in Woodland and standing in both front...

As always a great trip report, I need to get started on mine. We also hit the Pando Grove, Oct 12 there was a dusting of snow and it was a cold 31 degrees. Just a day trip before we went to the BLM land just outside of Capitol Reef for the ellipse.

Good advice. I have been looking at the long term weather (WAG) and it shows clouds in the Albert Rim and Fruita area. We will be checking a few days ahead of he 14th. IF cloudy we will head south from Durango and be a Mexican Hat. Wishing everyone clear skys for the ring of fire.

Great report as usual. The pictures do say a thousand words. Cutting the hole exposing the wires without cutting them proves. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good, but you got both with that hole. I did notice the cordless caulk gun, I bought one when I did a re-caulk on my van roof. My...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hodakaguy's 4wd Sprinter Build - Pic Heavy!

Please take a lot of time to learn how to ride the hack. It is not a motorcycle. My brother was an expert level flat tracker and wanted a hack for taking his kids on rides. I am sure you have ridden it enough to know how fast it moves sideways when you do a pantic stop. Scarred me when I rode my...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 12v system voltage tolerance and lithium/lead-acid differences

Humble Road has reported MaxxAir Fans having a problem with higher voltage. I use a Phillips BiPAP ASV and I get a voltage error when hooked to my Lithium, using the 12v plug/cord. I put in a 12v regulator and still got an error. Called Phillips and was told it needs around 13v. I am now using...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Running the 12v Compressor Fridge

I turned my 12v fridge off between trips and turned on the day before we left. Did this over 8 years and never had a problem. Doing the same with my bigger van fridge. I think doing either will be OK.
