RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West greasing uac while traveling

Much more convenient/cheaper to carry a grease gun. Problem is most grease guns weep, especially in warm conditions. Double wrap in some protective cover if you decide to carry one. Not wanting to hijack this discussion but has anyone ever found a grease gun that does not leak, if so let us know.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flat siding repair and or replacement.

Had my daughters hail damaged car repaired with the glue pull method but I doubt the glue pull method will be completely effective in this case as there are hard creases, get a good dent guy to est. it and ask if it will be 100% when finished. you will still need paint touched up too, which will...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How do you level your rig?

I carry 4 2x10x15" boards and 4 4x4x8" blocks. If the 2x10 thickness isn't enough, i build a ramp using the 4x4 block in conjunction with the 2x10. The 2x10s are yellow pine but I made the 4x4s out of cedar which greatly reduces their weight. Thinking of switching the 2x10s to cedar as well or...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New FWC's have 10awg wire internally, why have a thicker wire from truck?

Might affect the bulk charge on some batteries. If your battery requires 14+ volts(as many do for bulk charge) and your output from the alt is 14 or so volts, then you drop approx. 1 volt on the way to the battery, you will not get a proper charge.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suggestions on cleaning stains on pop-up material?

Soap and water is about the only thing that will not degrade the fabric. You might try magic eraser cleaner, it is effective on some dirt/stains. A 10% bleach solution if rinsed thoroughly might help. Do not use solvents as this can/will affect the coating. Once clean apply some 303 or other...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Broken frame welds, front of 2000 Grandby

Since you've discounted the welding option; Your bracket and rivet idea is probably the next best thing but consider bedding the brackets in a polyurethane adhesive(3m 5200) while installing(riveting), poly U will add a lot of strength plus it can flex without breaking or cracking. Flexible...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Tires Needed

My Cooper ATPs are holding up very well, they are good in wet weather, have very little sidewall flex, and are pretty quiet for a all terrain tire. They are not great in mud but much better in mud than the Mich. LTX tires on my Tundra. If you occasionally drive in mud(not deep stuff either) the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Turnbuckle replacement size?

I measured and ordered accordingly and got the highest load rating within the size limit. I don't want the turnbuckle to be the weak link, although I understand the concept.

Talk to a dealer and get up to date availability per cab/bed configuration on the payload pkg. Ford has changed that spec since first offering it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eyebolts and backing plate question

Sounds like a good plan. I would also encourage you to radius all the square corners and edges of the plates to prevent a can opener effect if/when they are pulled off angle. Prime any holes you drill before installing plates.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pop Top Seals

When closed the top overlaps the camper sides. The weather seal(hollow tube type) is just around the front and about 30" down each side and is compressed between the top and sides. For the remainder of the sides and the back of the camper there is no seal, the canvas itself acts as the seal. The...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic RM2354 Gas Cooling

Plug and play but you need a 12v source. I had to remove the brackets from the factory fan(single setup). New fan comes with brackets that worked well for my application. The flame should have a firm shape to it and not be wafting around. I regularly blow the orifice out with compressed air, in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 80's FWC what to look for before buying

Check for; mold, mildew, wood rot( inside and out but especially the floor pan and lower sides), signs of water leakage, worn and/or brittle fabric. If so equipped, check appliances to see if they work. Check wiring for corrosion if the camper spent time on the coast. My 2 cents

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic RM2354 Gas Cooling

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 303 cleaner.

Both products mentioned above are excellent. I have used the 303 protectant since getting my hawk, usually twice a year. 2005 model and fabric is still pliable with no cracking. What ever you choose, be sure it doesn't contain petroleum as an ingredient, 303 does not.

I replaced my optima(really a dual purpose) with a true deep cycle from Renogy(100 ah) AGM (Found it on amazon for less than $200). I run my fridge on propane so my elect. needs are fairly minimal; fans, led lights, phone charging, etc. My 60 watt panel keeps up fine and with the 100 ah...
