Frank, thanks for ideas.....but i tried to follow you detailed steps and my computer is a mac also
some how i get lost along the way and things do not show as you describe i realize it is me and my
short fuse! maybe someday i'll find some one to show me.
enough tech for the day headed to the...
beating a dead horse!
it seems to me that when i first signed on to this site it was easier to post pictures (had to be
as i was able to post) which i no longer do. as someone who spends very little time posting on the internet
trying to remember all the steps to post just is not worth the...
i always follow the Borrego site that you post on as we lived in Borrego for
a few years and still spend many a day there as do you.
you might want to post your story about the time you "left" your camper :o
on the gypsum road!
and welcome to the forum.

when i had a dish tv set up on my eagle i used a weather proof out door elect box cover
mounted near the back door,so when i was stopped i would just run cable from dish to inside.
drilled a 1" inch hole when not in use it just was a elect outlet cover !

the best reason i have as to why you do not see to many Northstar campers
on sites such as this is that there is only 1 size that i know of that fits tacoma size
trucks is model mc600,most models mc 650 are for larger trucks.
have had our Northstar for awhile and so far no problems and
take...
biggest problem that seems to come up when driving wash board is
the weak tie down points (turn buckles) .
if you are planing on truly using your rig "off road" you should consider a more secure
mounting system.
after tearing my eagle loose from tacoma (following baja 1000 course) i went to...
i agree on white as a color, our new 2015 tacoma already has "custom" desert pinstripes !
as you said its a truck, now my road bike (bicycle) is another story its a 1989 trek tri bike
that i have over 20,000 miles on and at least once a year i go over it with a fine brush and touch up
any chips...
thought i would bring up the cheap way we did our "arctic"pac
when we had our fw camper eagle.
we had a spare queen size comforter cut it to size, added velcro,
camper came from factory with velcro already installed,do not know if they do now.
worked great and when rolled up in a stuff bag...
well i'm back at it.
it has been a few years since we have had a pop up on a truck but since i bore
easy i bought a 2015 4x4 tacoma ( had a 2008 tacoma and a 2003 tacoma before)
with a fwc eagle.
since i knew i would be buying another pop up i went ahead and set the truck up ready
to load it...
me thinks there is only 1 Alex Honnold
every one else is "just" a climber.
most will agree he is in a league of his own!
back to his van as a van lover/builder/user thank his latest van
update was done by a sponsor (solar set up etc.) very basic, but lacking
of roof vents,air flow,rough...
first tacoma 2002 reg cab inline 4 4x4 manual, eagle shell loaded with way to much crap
over gvw always kept total milage figures, included six pack hard shell at times.
total overall mpg when owned even 16 mpg.
2nd tacoma 2008 access cab 4x4 v/6 6spd manual with same eagle and six pack at...
unless i know the person or such as this site,if person has shown
that he/she is respected by members i do not share spots.(then by pm only)
over the years as a remote hot springs junkie i have seen beautiful
natural hot springs trashed ,ruined, over run with thrill seekers.

as some one who is not to group happy i would consider
a get together that would include more than show and tell
enough of that on the inner net!
one idea would be to have a location ,example june lake ca.
area when fishing season opens, that people at their leisure
could stop by stay as long...
wish i had a picture of what i did when i was moving a piece of rebar in my shop to cut a piece off.
i backed up with it and put a gouge plus small hole.
after cussing myself and trying to blame the cat i came up with a easy out.
i took a outside electric outlet cover, they come with rubber...
do not count on getting any response from firestone i cracked a frame
way back when i had a toyota w/fwc i felt it was caused by poor design
as toyota of that year did not have boxed frame in location of mounting point
after repair to frame (boxed it in) called factory rep to explain that...
if you bought from factory/dealer original owner
i would be at their door first thing as there is no way
solar with 2 batteries would go dead.
has to be wired incorrectly, bad batteries, bad solar panel.
the blown fuses tell me you have a short, possibly a bare wire
that rubs on frame etc.
if...
i get a kick out of weather reports on "record temps"
i live in the desert and my yard temps are never within 5 degrees of
reported official temps most temps are taken at city locations which might be
a weather station at the airport, city hall.fire dept., etc possibly measured in a paved...
Hi HS,
Thanks for the "Welcome". WTW has been such a great discovery... so many interesting people sharing their time and expertise.
That's a great idea to seal between windows. An insulated box with a 12v fan could be all that's needed and wouldn't be too costly to try out. I agree that...
really enjoyed your trip pictures, always jealous of fellow wanders ability to
post such great travel reports and pictures.
i do not know if you have a slider window on your pop up and truck, but just a
idea that might work for you as it has in the past worked for us.
as we have always...
the question asked by jay was about inflatables, not what type of kayaks
single, tandem,hard shell,etc. you prefer!
start a new thread on what ever you want a answer on and stay on subject.
just my thoughts,yours may differ.
Les,lqhikers
Jay,
the advanced elements tandem we had (which is the orange/ red? color)
is self bailng, also tracking was very good, plus was very stable, was a surprise to me!
and it does go back in the travel bag!
Les,lqhikers
Jay,
even though nothing replaces a Hobie mirage (ours was a tandem)
we did go with a Advanced Elements brand tandem inflatable, tough as nails for the price.
i would post a link but gave up a long time ago trying pictures or links.
keep away from crap like sea eagles.(ok as a throw away!)...
glad you enjoyed you break in trip.
i agree with you on the mattress i can not figure why
the factory can not have at least a option for this item,
have they never slept in their own product?
i know the first time my wife slept in ours she said
if we did not get a decent mattress it would be...
leadsled9,
agree with you 100% .
we never go anywhere with out our safety as our first priority.
in places where certain items are not allowed we always have bear spray,
or wasp spray as a back up.
