RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar and 2 batteries last less than 3 days?

Something is amiss there. I have never had a fuse blow, I can go three or four days before I hit the two light indicator and I DON'T have solar. I have the factory two battery system with the 110L Waeco frig.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dee Zee Bed Mat Drainage

Nope. I wouldn't worry about it. I had a Grandby sitting on a bed mat on the same truck for twenty some years. When I sold the rig the camper base was fine and the bed mat and truck bed looked almost new. Only thing I noticed was some paint abrasion from the dimples....but no rust. On my new...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West F-250 & FWC Hawk,.. Do I need bags or helpers?

After over 7,000 miles with my Hawk on full time on a 2012 Chevy 2500HD I find no need for any suspension upgrades what so ever. My loaded Hawk was 1300 lbs dry and fully loaded around a ton. With a 2900 lb payload I have plenty capacity to spare. Seriously, this truck handles the camper like a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fall photo trip

Don't miss Beartooth Pass from Red Lodge, MT to the Sunlight Basin, Dead Indian Pass, Cooke City, MT area. If there is a more beautiful drive in the country I haven't found it. Not in the park so your dog can run free with the griz and plenty of camping and 4WD road opportunities...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

Thanks to this thread I have attached a bottle opener to my Hawk and I have decided it is now time for it to multitask. I use the grocery style plastic bags with handles for my garbage collection and have never really found a convenient way to hang it.....until now.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Starting From Scratch

Towing a 18' boat and a loaded slide in camper? My choice would be/was a 3/4 ton truck. It is simple matter of math. Add the trailer tongue weight, weight of passengers, water, propane, food, grill, etc, etc, etc. Compare that total to the payload rating of your chosen truck. Tacoma.....no way...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Looking for a lightweight crapper?

Nope, not with my knees....I'd end up on my back in need of a hazmat team. I'll second the army shovel method. Forgot about that. Used that years ago.....ahh memories.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ATC vs. FWC Side Liner

Tim here is thread discussing the arctic pack option: http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/2798-artic-pack/?hl=artic It's not a cheap option but I am glad got it. The R value itself isn't much but it creates about a 1" dead air space and seems to really help. If you do a lot of cold weather...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ATC vs. FWC Side Liner

I wouldn't want to deal with outside flaps....no need and just another aggravation. The FWC system works fine. I was in severe rain and wind storm just after this picture was taken and no issues with leakage what so ever. My wife was concerned that the whole rig was going over. Edit On edit...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ID-MT-WY?: Desert Rat Venturing Outside His Comfort Zone Seeks Input

Personally, I'll never go to Glacier, YNP/Tetons again during the summer. The crowds were unreal. No parking available at just about every main attraction....circling to find a spot at Old Faithful. I knew this going in but still was surprised. Love those parks, but for me, only spring and fall...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ID-MT-WY?: Desert Rat Venturing Outside His Comfort Zone Seeks Input

Agreed. This is the Glacier no one goes to, must be the gravel washboard suicide 1 1/4 lane track. Just got back from there and add Kintla Lake to the list, just to the north of Bowman Lake. Glacier views without the people. You've seen pics of lakes and mountains....how about food and drink...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West front loading vs top loading

2x I have the same one from FWC. Plenty of room as mentioned and quiet as a mouse. Personally, I think the Waeco front loader is the way to go.

Perseverance pays off. I bought my Hawk from Chris at RMFWC and have nothing but good things to say about him and the camper. Great guy. Try to avoid all the fires around here. :(

From the owners manual, page 5: "Disconnect 12 volt power to camper with the master switch (“red or silver” push/pull knob near fuse panel & circuit breakers) if camper is not being used, over time the alarms may drain the battery."

WTW was my first, so to speak, so going to some of the other forums can be interesting to say the least. The battles over Chevy vs Ram vs Ford vs 1/2 vs 3/4 ton reach heights that are both hiliarious and distressing. Thanks for the info on the points and reputation....interesting. I think the...

So....I have been perusing the new forum/profile layout and I see warning points under my handle. Don't recall that from before? RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wire shorts at the front lift panel

No change in the wire type, but we have changed the routing of the wire so that is not repeatedly bent. We are confident that this is a sound solution. Any timeframe as to when that new design was implemented?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BBQ for camper - with a poll!

Here is the grill I'd really like to get. It stows pretty easy and has a drip pan that is easily cleaned and removed. Kuuma grills Thanks for that link. Looks to be a good solution. Quality, light, stainless steel, compact, yet the price is comparable to the Q. I'll sniff around and see if I...
