RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Keyless Door Lock

On the flip side, given that it has a numeric keypad, it can mean you don't need to carry and worry about losing your keys hiking, canoeing, swimming etc. My guess is you could find a Harmony type remote, if you found yourself overwhelmed with fobs.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Keyless Door Lock

I'm a little surprised the nobody else expressed interest in your keyless entry system Bombsight. I personally think if it was listed as a FWC option it would be on most people's list. Compared to some of the other options, like the rear steps that most of us order and never use it seems like...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suggestions for a long trip --- What would you bring?

I'm tough, I use Lysol wipes :P I don't seem to get any skin irritation. Great recommendation on wipes.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Keyless Door Lock

That's pretty impressive. My FWC is on year round and I daily drive and I lock/unlock the back door at least 4X a day. Tempting... especially since the paint is chipping on my handle and it looks gross. I think it would end up being one of those things that you don't think you need until you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Keyless Door Lock

That's okay. That's what we're here for. ^_^ What kind of range (distance away from vehicle) are you getting with the keyfob? Does it somehow confirm it has locked or do you hear the mechanism lock?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Keyless Door Lock

That is so cool !!! One of the nicest mods I have seen. I'm sure everyone at a traffic light behind you admires it :) I'm sure you will also admire it every time you open and close the camper. On a personal note, the paint is chipping/flaking quite a bit on my 2013 Hawk door latch. It...

Thank you Squatch. I don't think "rocket science" is needed here. Just a quick reminder to check that your battery is secure along with the terminal connections.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Lightroom CC on an iPad Pro 10.5

I can't speak from personal experience, but I did work in Apple retail for 5 years up until a year ago. Recently I spoke with one of my coworkers who has converted her entire photography workflow onto an iPad and she has one of the 12" MacBooks with the Retina display that only weights 2...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West F150 with a 2150 lb payload for a Hawk

I have a 2009 GMC regular cab 1/2 ton with a 1800lb payload and a loaded 2013 Hawk. We are right at about 1800 lbs payload loaded. 2 people and we don't bring a ton of junk, or offroad equipment. That truck would have 350lb more payload than what I have. If you like to bring lots of stuff or...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Total pop-up material replacement - purchasing to finishing

That's an incredible amount of work, even if you hadn't fabricated your own canvas piece. Good for you. Nice to know how your camper is put together. Makes it much easier to identify issues when then arise and while they are small. I noticed you just used a bead of silicon and then screwed...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Winter Storage Prep Considerations - Pests

Cleaning, polishing, futzing etc. is the best maintenance you can do. That's when you will notice the little details that you never noticed before and you can take care of them before they become bigger issues, especially when it comes to water infiltration etc. Have fun prepping for next season!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FS: 2014 Hawk - PRICE DROP $15,000 (Central PA)

That's nothing on the dings. Great that you pointed them out, but I'm sure we all have a ding or two... it's inevitable. Do you have a shot of the cabinets and ice box. I'm not in the market, but it's a big part of what makes your camper unique.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Four Wheel Camper Price Increases

I'm glad I have my 2013 Hawk and held onto it through a job loss. I couldn't afford to buy a new one  That being said, for those who are still looking, the value is there, especially given the most of us get sooooo much use out of them.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My NEW Post-Processing Hardware: "Build 2017"

Good plan to upgrade the board, storage and RAM, while the rest of the machine is still relatively current. Cheaper than starting all over from square 1 and the components you upgraded are the parts that have seen the biggest performance gains in the past few years (unless you game). Having...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

They won't be strong as steel screws. There are also different aluminum alloys. You would need to chose one that is sacrificial to the aluminum used on the camper skin. I have now idea what alloy of aluminum is used. As you can see from the chart below Magnesium, Zinc and Beryllium are...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

My advice would be to stay away from stainless unless coating them with a zinc paste. The zinc is sacrificial. Once the zinc coating is gone stainless steel screw with the start to sacrifice the aluminum. Therefore, you will have to recoat them every few years. You could also use zinc coated...

On behalf of all cold wives.... shame on you :P Living in Canada and winter camping I use the propane furnace all the time the GF absolutely loves it. I can safely say it's the reason we camp all the time and all year long. I find it to be very efficient even at -20C / -4F
